DIGHA

Digha is the coastal town situated in the state West Bengal of east India. It is 183 km ( approx) from the city of Kolkata. In the way from Kolkata to Digha, there are some more beaches sight that people can visit such as Mandarmani (170 km), Tajpur (172 km). The distance given are from Kolkata.There are two beach sight in digha, one is Old Digha ( there is only sand in the beach) and the other is known as New Digha ( there is sand and rock in the beach). 

Myth is that the wave of new Digha is higher than in the old Digha. Trust me it's really not like that. Waves are same as it is natural.

WHERE DO YOU STAY?

One can stay in a hotel or resort located in both Old and New Digha. In the evening people can visit a well set up market along the beach at New Digha. Accommodation ranges from 500 to higher. Charges may vary during festival or season.

Sea food is the speciality of Digha. No one can miss those delicious food. Many such food stalls will be ready to serve you at a cost starting from Rs 50 per plate. Ranges vary according to what you eat. You can also eat Indian, continental, Chinese good there in restaurant nere by .

PLACE TO VISIT :

                   

Marine aquarium and Regional center: There you can see a huge collection of sea Creatures such as baby sharks, sting ray, sea horse, different species of crabs and fishes , coral and many more. A skeleton of 40 ft (approx) of whale is kept there . Those who have interest in sea world , must visit there. As photography is not allowed there so I don't have many pictures of marine aquarium.

                   

• Chandaneshwar Temple : This is a white some shaped temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. I heard about this temple but I haven't went to this temple yet. 
• Another sight in digha is Amarbati park, Science center, deer park.

How you can go Digha from Kolkata?

By bus :  One can take bus from Esplanade bus stop. It takes usually 3-4 hours to reach Digha from bus stand. Charges ranges from 100-500 (approx) depends on the AC or Non-AC. Bus departs at an interval of 2-3 hours.

By train : Train is available from Howrah station , satragachi, sealdah. Ticket fare ranges from 50-250 approx.
